I want to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to provide you with your next 4 legged addition to your family.  I have worked very hard to provide you with a Gorgeous, Healthy Golden that will give you a life time of unconditional LOVE!

Golden groves puppy care

Feeding: Your puppy will normally only eat ½ cup of dry in the morning  1/2 cup at noon and repeat in the evening. I recommend that you put 1 cup down and let him eat until he walks away and do this for a couple of days so you know the amount that is right for your puppy.  Give snacks in between. Remember do not overdo the treats or your puppy will not eat his or her regular food. Take your puppy out to potty immediately after eating or drinking and take him to the same spot every time.  Increase the amount of food with growth. Read your dog food bag >how much per dog’s body weight (ACTUALLY USE A MEASURING CUP). If you choose to switch foods always mix a little of old brand with your new selection. This will prevent stomach upset!

We hope that you choose to stay on Life’s Abundance Pet Food for life!  Nutrition is very important for good bone development & health.  We have worked very hard to provide you with a puppy that will give you years and years of unconditional love & pleasure.  We feel this food & supplement will actually help your companion live a longer, happier, healthier life and prevent unnecessary trips to the vet.

MY OPINION: DO NOT GET YOUR GOLDEN ALTERED UNTIL AT LEAST 1 YEAR OLD!  THIS CAN CAUSE MANY INTERNAL PROBLEMS AND ALSO STUNT HIS OR HER GROWTH!  DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND COME TO YOUR OWN CONCLUSION. I say this to you because I know you are a responsible pet owner and would NEVER have them off a leash an unattended without you.

Toys and chews: Provide your puppy with plenty of its own made in the U.S.A. chews and toys! All puppies chew. Never allow a young pup to bite on your arm! Or you may have a grown dog that likes to keep your arm in his or her mouth. (See our dog food page for treats and DO NOT PURCHASE CHEWS THAT ARE NOT MADE IN THE U.S.A.  THEY HAVE TOXIC CHEMICALS IN THEM!  all of life's abundance treats are made in the U.S.A...I may sound redundant about life's abundance products but I FEEL VERY STRONGLY ABOUT GOOD NUTRITION AND SAFE PRODUCTS FOR YOUR PET.  You can get a sample of each of the HealthyPetNet products at www.sayhealthypet.net click on dog gift pack...this is a nice gift pack with their treats and a toy.

Housebreaking: We prefer crate training or gate training. This means confining your pup to his own den (area of comfort). Normally, they do not like to mess up the area where they sleep. Of course, any dog may soil their crate if they are not taken out on a regular basis. Puppies go more frequently. Again, as they mature they can hold it longer. Never scold your dog while in the crate! Once your dog is trained he or she will return to the crate for their own space! Plus an advantage is if you should ever need to crate your dog for evacuation purposes….the dog will gladly go into the crate! Praise your puppy when he or she does well! Take the pup out frequently! Give them a little freedom after they have relieved themselves.

Never punish a dog that goes in the house unless you catch them in the act! Catch them run over and sharply say no, then take them outside! Take them to the same spot every time. Golden's are very smart and they want to please you so this should be enough to let them know that you are not pleased...You never need to spank them, and you should not rub their noses in it! I feel this is VERY cruel and unnecessary.

Basics: Enroll your puppy in a puppy kindergarten or obedience class only after puppy
has had all 4 shots...THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR
PUPPY TO PUBLIC PLACES UNTIL THEIR 4TH SHOT...THEY ARE NOT PROTECTED FROM PARVO UNTIL THIS TIME!! Your puppy has his 1st shot probably just a few days before purchase, check date on health cert. and take your puppy for his 2nd shot 3 1/2 to 4 weeks after this date...THE 4 PUPPY SHOTS ARE VERY IMPORTANT!

What you do with your puppy the first day is going to be very important, wherever you put the puppy on his or her first night away from mommy is where they will claim…so therefore if you plan to crate train---do it from day one! Or else you will have a barking puppy wanting out of the crate when you do decide to crate the dog. Dog gates work well in small area…if the area is to large…they will soil it…because it gives them to much area! If your puppy will be shipped to you the crate he will come in is perfect for at least a few weeks.

Most important!!!!

Puppy proof your home and yard. Get rid of poisonous plants! Power cords. Many people have lost pups due to electric shock and poisonous substances in their garage. Just because golden retrievers love water does not mean they cannot drown…watch your puppy around a swimming pool!

Last thing! Enjoy your puppy! These dogs are personable! They will be your best friend and companion. They will always be loyal to you. We hope everything is golden for you and your family. Hang in there….the puppy stage is tough…but bring your youngster through it the right way---and you will receive your gold! A golden retriever for life! Love you will cherish! Your best friend! Who else will greet you at the door with a tail wagging smile!

You have a great deal invested in your Golden and he or she will be a big part of your life! Please I cannot stress enough the importance of good nutrition Life's abundance & supplement will give your Golden the nutrition he or she needs.  The Advanced Daily supplement will give them the ESTER C vitamins they need for healthy hips and bones right now they are getting 1/2 of a chewable vitamin.  When they reach 20 pounds you will increase to 1 whole chewable and follow the bottle directions from there. They will eat it like a treat, they love the taste.

Thank you… from Goldengroves
